Gracie York

Guild Founder & Head Editor

I read constantly growing up, whether I was staying up late into the night or walking across the street. My well-loved copies of books by Tamora Pierce, Dianna Wynne Jones, and Patricia C. Wrede are familiar favorites I’ve read dozens of times. Now older and wiser, I read less often when I’m crossing the street. My library is still expanding, though, with books by new favorites such as K.M. Shea and Will Wight.

After different jobs teaching English, writing reports, and talking people through their problems, I ended up editing for a medical textbook company. At which point I realized, if I like editing medical textbooks, how much more would I love editing fiction? So here we are.

I do all levels of editing that the Guild offers (developmental, copyediting, and proofreading). I also handle the business back-end of things. In my free time, I like to garden, read, and convince my husband and friends to play Citadels with me.
